What is shining here?

10. November 2023

Children’s eyes and lanterns! In all our daycares, the Festival of Lights or St. Martin’s Day was celebrated differently, because here too, the children have it in their own hands!

Empty detergent bottles go straight in the trash? Not at EPGlinos! Together with their parents, the children from Boppard-Buchholz upcycled the empty bottles and packaging into beautiful, creative lanterns in the craft workshop. The lantern parade can come, thought the EPGlino himself, and shone alongside the children. The whole week was quite busy in our first house daycare: the children were busy crafting, baking Weckmänner (or rather snacking on raisins?) and even acted out a play for St. Martin before the Weckmänner were fairly shared and enjoyed.

In the eyes of the forest children in Herrieden, there was a strong sparkle despite the rain yesterday. Families gathered at the Festival of Lights, warmed children’s punch over the campfire, and enjoyed the delicious buffet prepared by the parents. Well-fortified, they then went on a tour through the forest with brightly lit lanterns and warming lantern songs in tow.

Also in Tegernheim this evening, beautiful light shows were celebrated, super delicious soup was cooked and shared over the fire, and table lanterns were crafted. This makes the colorful autumn forest twice as fun!

In Pielenhofen, the children were clear: rain or not, today is a day to celebrate! They had been looking forward to the story hour for so long: everyone together had rehearsed “The Star Money” for the parents: our intern Erasmus as the narrator, the forest children as actors, and the educators as musical accompaniment. “The star money girl lives on in all of us,” Erasmus says at the end of the play. “We can all try to share what we have.” The entire evening was under the St. Martin’s theme of “Sharing and Helping,” and the questions were: “How do we help together to keep the fire burning?” and “How do we share the best warm spots?” Watching it all definitely warmed our hearts with joy. Thank you for the wonderful evening!

The EPGlinos are KoKita!

Learning from and with each other: The EPGlinos have been a consultation center for digital media in daycare from the beginning, and we are already very proud of our team! This week, we really got started, and the first grade class visited us. We are very excited about the journey ahead and curious about all the possibilities this will bring!
