Acclimatization

It’s September, and our forest kindergartens are starting a new round. We welcome some new team members, and soon the EPGlinos will also move into our first main daycare center. For us, this time is characterized by the motto of “Acclimatization” but what does that actually mean concretely?

For a successful and gentle start to the shared daycare journey, all parties involved are in motion: both the children and their parents, as well as the pedagogical team. We come together and build a good, trusting relationship with each other, where everyone contributes their part and the child not only “grows into our system.”

When we arrive in a new situation – no matter how big or small we are – everything is new and exciting at first. We wish for security and goodwill. Therefore, parents are very important for the children as a safe haven during this time. Before they can explore the new world at their own pace, they need to feel comfortable there and have trust in their educators. And only when that happens can they confidently say goodbye to their parents and engage in daycare life with joy and curiosity.

Our pedagogical professionals moderate the “anEINanderGEWÖHNUNG” for the children and accompany them. Their essential strength lies in recognizing and interpreting signs and signals from the children, responding sensitively to them, and being in close communication with the parents.

This is also an eventful time for parents, in which they accompany their child and support us in getting to know each other. When we say, “Parents are experts on their child,” we mean that we respect their deep, intense knowledge of their child and value them as important partners throughout the daycare journey. We accompany them and involve them at all times to ensure that the children arrive with us in the best possible way.

So that the daycare team can work together well from the start and fully focus on the children, they already have their very own “anEINanderGEWÖHNUNG” beforehand: The pedagogical team of the EPGlinos in Boppard-Buchholz has been with us since September 1st. What does the new daycare look like as a workplace? Who are the new colleagues and what is important to us as the provider? During the 2-week onboarding process, the educators and littlebigFuture get to know each other in the new work environment and shape their team culture. The educators delve into our pedagogical core topics such as nature-based education, sustainable education, and digitization, discuss organizational processes, and actively design the group rooms.

We wish you all very inspiring and fulfilling two weeks and lots of fun! Welcome to the team 😊

To all the new forest children, we wish you a great start to your very own daycare journey and are already excited to hear your “Acclimatization” stories 😊
